I'm a mathematics major at Rowan University full time, and work as a store clerk part time. I'm just like everyone else who is going to college.
Please enjoy my Tumblr.
Finished Nightmare difficulty tonight.
It was…. nightmarish.
Diablo himself wasn’t so hard, considering before act 3 I re-socketed all my gear for more health, more then tripling my health, my DPS did however plummet, which is still manageable.
DPS was 1988 (Lol), Now is 1400 something.
So it takes me a little longer to kill things, but I dont die immediately into a fight.
Starting Hell difficulty tomorrow, I know already that I’m going to get my face stomped in.
It’s been a few days.
Ok, so lets see, I’m on Nightmare difficulty.
My buddy hasnt been online in a while, so I’ve been soloing it, so I had to change my build in game.
My base dps is like 990 right now, (I’m level 45 now, so that’s a thing.)
My Ray of Frost is doing around 2k a tick, non-crit, which is pretty awesome.
Poison Hydra is doing about 1200 a tick, non-crit, Also awesome.
The game is fairly easy for me at this point in time. I’m coasting through everything, even boss fights barely take 30 seconds, Belial for example, took about 35 seconds, and he’s one of four major bosses…. so that’s also a thing.
Games going along pretty swimmingly, and really fun.
My buddy and I just completed act 3 this morning, and tonight will probably finish off act four considering we are approximately half way through it right now, well at least that’s how it seems, but this game is highly misleading on progression.
I finally hit level 30 and changed most of my spell abilities over to Frost damage, because I unlocked Cold Blooded ‘You do 20% additional damage to chilled creatures with your frost spells’ so that’s a thing.
My DPS jumped over 100 points due to my huge jump in Intel in the game, and this is before the 20% buff I just mentioned, and before my ‘Glass Cannon’ passive. So my dps in total is somewhere around 350 average currently. And THAT dps is before my spell dmg is even calculated in. Example: Frost beam does 210% weapon dmg, so that spell is doing just over 700 dps.
I also took a look at my buddies Monk’s stats.
He’s breaking 300 dps last I checked, and that’s just basic attacks, which is incredibly impressive considering he is using mostly tanking abilities when I play along him, so if he was using more offensive spells he would probably be doing more damage then I am. Kudos bro.
Is it any good? I only played Diablo 2 briefly like 10 years ago.
You know, this game is actually really really entertaining. I’m not much of an RPG player, but here we go.
A quick breakdown of the phases I went through before and after getting the game.
After Installation // beginning to play:
So now you see, albeit a lot of the reviews out there seems a little like blizzard was trying to push their own game, it actually is worth it. Now coming from someone who never played Diablo or Diablo 2, I can say that there is a bit of a learning curve to the story line, but over time they seem to explain it pretty well.
I’m not much of a man for single player games, so that’s my personal downside to Diablo 3. I don’t like playing it alone. So the multiplayer facet of it makes it super entertaining. Example: Take a good game that was only single player, mod it so that it has multiplayer ability, enjoy. That’s how multiplayer feels, like it’s still meant for single, but the mobs do scale their stats depending on the amount of players.
The story line is kind of…. predictable though, but that does not make it any less entertaining, you’re kinda like “Oh he’s gonna do that, OH HE TOTALLY DID, NO WAY!!!” Not to mention the huge amount of time it takes to complete the acts, which isn’t such a bad thing, considering you do not realize just how long you’ve been at it until you check your play time.
So all in all, if you have the money to spare for it, and you want a good game with a seemingly infinite amount or replay-ability, then this is where it’s at.
Tonight after playing with my friend Andrew we both made it to the beginning of act 4. We are both at level 29, when we started tonight I was only 25, but when I started today without him I was 22, so that’s incredible progress.
Sometime in the next few days we will be doing act four and finishing the game on normal.
It’s so much easier playing along with him, having him tank on his monk, while I play ranged nuke dps on my wizard. It really is so much more fun to play with a partner, especially one that isnt squishy, when you yourself are a glass cannon.
I am surprised at how good this game has been so far. I am only level 18 out of 60 and it feels like I’ve done so much in the game, but when I check my progression it looks like I’ve done almost nothing.
Many more good times are to be had with this. The story feels like it was meant for single player, but you can play with friends. It gives me a feeling like if Pokemon was multiplayer.
Downloading Diablo 3.
Goodbye outside world.
